Stage Managers
Clamour is currently seeking lighting designers and stage managers for upcoming projects. These are independent contractor engagements—not salaried or employee positions. Successful applicants will be hired per-production and issued a 1099-NEC for payments over $600 annually. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits.
REQUIREMENTS
The lighting designer will perform the following functions:
- Analyze the script, set, and location to understand the lighting requirements
- Collaborate with director, producers, and other team members to discuss and understand the desired visual effects
- Design lighting concepts that serve the artistic and practical needs of the project and can be accomplished with available lighting instruments
- Create and deliver lighting plots, plans, and schedules
- Work with Clamour and venue personnel to oversee the installation, focusing and programming of the lighting fixtures
- Meet production deadlines and adhere to production schedule
- Ensure that all lighting equipment is functioning correctly and safely
- Attend rehearsals to adjust lighting designs as necessary
- Document all aspects of the lighting design for reference during the production and for potential future use
The stage manager will perform standard stage management functions. Previous stage management experience in a theatre environment a plus. Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills needed. A background check may be required for projects involving minor actors.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with director, and other team member to schedule rehearsals
- Notify cast and crew of call times, as needed
- Manage scheduled rehearsals, including organizing cast and crew, coordinating scene changes, and maintaining rehearsal discipline and focus including adhering to best practices for safety and
- Create and distribute daily rehearsal report to production team
- Create and maintain production documentation such as schedules, scene breakdowns, contact lists, prompt book, and run sheets
- Assist in coordinating and running tech rehearsals and performances
- Be the first person to arrive and last person to leave for every rehearsal and performance
- Must be able to lift to 50lbs
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, nights, weekends and holidays
